The interiors of the St. James Hotel and Club are currently undergoing complete renovation by an international team of architects and designers led by the award-winning interior designer AMJ Design, from Berlin. Each of the luxurious 60 guest rooms and suites will reflect Althoff Hotels’ attention to detail, incorporating state-of-the-art technology and exquisite furnishings. Many will have their own balcony and views over the rooftops of the historic St James's district. The penthouse suite will feature a large rooftop terrace, unrivalled in this part of London. Exclusively designed and in harmony with the elegance of the Victorian building, the rooms have an average size of 25 m². All rooms are exclusively finished with handmade silk wallpaper, black lacquered furniture, hand crafted Murano glass chandeliers and polished natural stones in the bathroom. In addition to the listed room facilities, rooms come with laptop safes, iPod docking stations and flat-screen TVs. All rooms also include built-in wardrobes to offer a more spacious feel.

Food & beverage

St James’s has become one of the most fashionable areas of London in which to dine. This reputation is now enhanced by the arrival of head chef Philipp Vogel and his team. His menu for the Andaman Restaurant is an exploration of the traditions and tastes experienced by Marco Polo on his route from Venice to China. The hotel’s bar has a comfortable, calm and sophisticated atmosphere. It serves classic English afternoon tea and exciting cocktails.

By London Underground: The nearest London Underground station is Green Park on the Piccadilly, Victoria and Jubilee lines of the London Underground network. The hotel is just a 2-minute walk from Green Park station, which offers easy connections to London Victoria, Waterloo, Canary Wharf and all of the other main London railway stations. From Green Park station, turn left at the exit barrier and go up the left-hand set of stairs. Walk along Piccadilly and turn right into Arlington Street after passingthe Ritz. Continue to the end of the street, where a staircase is discreetly located. Go down the staircase, and you will find the St. James’s Hotel & Club on the opposite site of the street, on the right. By Air (from London Heathrow Airport): The hotel is approximately 14 miles (23 km) from London Heathrow Airport. Taxis are readily available from just outside the airport and the journey from the airport to the hotel should take about 40 minutes. Alternatively, you could take the train; the Heathrow Express runs approximately every 15 minutes from the airport to London Paddington station and takes just 15 minutes to reach Paddington. From Paddington, you can take the London Underground to Green Park station, which is just 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel. In addition, the Piccadilly line (dark blue) of the London Underground also runs directly from London Heathrow Airport to Green Park London Underground station, with a journey time of approximately 50 minutes. By Air (from London Gatwick Airport): The hotel is approximately 25 miles (40 km) from London Gatwick Airport. The Gatwick Express train service runs regularly to London Victoria station. This journey will take approximately 30 minutes. The hotel is just a short taxi ride from Victoria station and taxis are readily available from just outside the station. The journey from the station to the hotel should take no more than about 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the London Underground one stop to Green Park station, which is just 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel. By Air (from London City Airport): The hotel is approximately 10 miles (16 km) from London City Airport. The airport is accessible via the Jubilee line of the London Underground network and via the Docklands Light Railway.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All older children or adults are charged GBP 50.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. 5 % service charge per room per night is not included. City/tourist tax is not applicable.
