Checks to make before you book your family holiday...

Before you book, the most important thing is to find a destination that is ideal for children and where the adults will enjoy themselves too. If the children get to learn something at their holiday destination, thats even better!

Check the weather in your destination, for the time of year you are travelling.

Check that everyones passports are in date and for the duration of your holiday.

Check whether you require a Visa for your destination, as you need time to apply for it.

Consider booking quickly if you will be travelling during the school holidays, places and offers get booked up early.

If you are searching for a hotel or resort because it has a kids club, do check the age restrictions should it not be shown, and that it will be open whilst you are there. Some kids clubs are seasonal, and may only be open during school holidays and bank holiday weekends.

In association with the ‘Know Before You Go’ Campaign, we are working with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) to do all that we can to help British travellers stay safe overseas. Before you go overseas, check out the FCO website at www.fco.gov.uk/travel. It is packed with essential travel advice and tips, and up-to-date country information.
